Why cite CottonGen?
One of the ways we are able to demonstrate that CottonGen is a useful resource is by tracking references to CottonGen in the literature. If you wish to make reference to the project, placing a link within the paper (e.g., http://wwwcottongen.org) is not enough! Although we appreciate the inclusion of any reference to CottonGen in your publications, we cannot track these sorts of references. Instead, please use the following as a guide to citing CottonGen within your publications.
If you use CottonGen data or tools in your research, please use the following citation to reference us (not just by the database URL):
- Yu J, Jung S, Cheng CH, Ficklin SP, Lee T, Zheng P, Jones D, Percy RG, Main D. CottonGen: a genomics, genetics and breeding database for cotton research. Nucleic acids research. 2013 Nov 06; 42(D1):D1229–D1236. doi:10.1093/nar/gkt1064
