Abstract

A genetic analysis Is presented of a mutant In allotetraploid cotton, Gossypium barbadense L., that Is characterized by golden-colored leaf veins and glossy leaf appearance. The mutant phenotype is conditioned by one Incompletely dominant gene. Homozygous dominant plants are extremely dwarfed and do not flower. The name golden veins and the gene symbol Gv is proposed for the mutant. Linkage tests between Gv and 20 Gossypium mutant genes ware negative.
