Fuzzy Leaf in Cotton and Its Association with Short Lint.
Publication Overview
Abstract An extremely pilose upland cotton, apparently a mutant, is described. The simple mendelian inheritance of the pilose condition indicates control by a single gene allelic to the glabrous condition, with the heterozygote definitely intermediate in pilosity. The pilose condition and short lint have been so universally associated in the plants studied as to indicate that both conditions are the pleiotropic effects of a single gene.
