| Description | Expresses high glanding trait (presence of gossypol glands on the lobes of the calyx crown), a character that has shown to confer a significant degree of resistance to the bollworm (Helicoverpa zea) and tobacco budworm (Heliothis virescens). Lint yields 5 to 16% higher than check cultivars such as DES 119, Deltapine 41, and Deltapine 50. Micronaire, fiber length, boll weight, and seed index slightly higher than DES 119, fiber strength and elongation similar. Seed gossypol approx. 25% higher than check cultivars such as DES 119 and Deltapine 50. |
