The interaction of two genes for yellow foliage in cotton
Publication Overview
Abstract Several genes for chlorophyll deficiency are present in amphidiploid cottons. Most of these genes are in Gossypium hirsutum L., but a few are in G. barbadense L. A gene for yellow foliage in G. hirsutum and one in G. barbadense both condition yellow foliage in the seedling stage. The foliage of the G. hirsutum mutant turns green as the leaves mature, while that of the G. barbadense mutant remains yellowish. This paper reports a study of the relationship of these yellow-foliage genes.
